Description

Author: Dundak

Description:
I would like to ask for a setup of hsb.wikipedia.org and dsb.wikipedia.org.
These wikis have been supported by a lot of users
.
Thera are test wikipedia located on meta.wikimedia.org/Test-WP/hsb and [meta.wikimedia.org/Test-WP/dsb
meta.wikimedia.org/Test-WP/dsb] and as I can see there are in the meantime a
couple of contributors working on them.

http://meta.wikimedia.org/Test-WP/hsb

should read as http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Test-WP/hsb
see aslo meta:special:Prefixindex/Test-WP/hsb

meta.wikimedia.org/Test-WP/dsb

should read as http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Test-WP/dsb
see aslo meta:special:Prefixindex/Test-WP/dsb

What names should be used at
http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/phase3/languages/Names.php?view=markup
for hsb ?
for dsb ?

Yes indeed.

Niklas should try to generate
the LanguageHsb.php and MessagesHsb.php based on
http://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=LanguageHsb.php&oldid=274514

That file is using . To see how to do it please take a look at
Bug 5862: Update of Belarusian messages translation (MessagesBe.php)
http://nike.users.idler.fi/betawiki/project:LanguageBe.php_and_MessagesBe.php

You are welcome to post updated message files at
http://nike.users.idler.fi/betawiki/project:LanguageHsb.php_and_MessagesHsb.php
and
http://nike.users.idler.fi/betawiki/project:LanguageDsb.php_and_MessagesDsb.php

Sorry: You asked a question.

The questions is as follows:
How should the names apear in the "In other language" section?

These names would be shown also

 • at meta:special:SiteMatrix#hsb and meta:special:SiteMatrix#dsb
 • in special:Preferences when selecting a user interface.

In this case:

hsb – hornjoserbsce
dsb – dolnoserbski

I hope that developers are only lazy (or forgot to create it) and there are no technical problems

I would also like to encourage the developers to create dsb/hsb.wikipedia.org.
Since there is already so much work done it should commence its work very soon.

But http://dsb.wikipedia.org/ is still missing! Been forgotten?

Lower sorbian was not listed as approved, so it was not created.
See http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Approved_requests_for_new_languages

I closed this request. New wikis must currently be approved by the language subcommittee; when dsb.wikipedia is approved, they'll open a new request themselves.
