I think this is a major problem.

One of the volunteers on nl: is trying to clean up the unused images, and is wading by
hand through this bulky list of thousands of entries. But with images linked through
templates (parameter parsing) never showing up as used, he created a page to list these
images to prevent them showing up as orphans (anti-weespagina).

Images of which he cant find any usage of are listed for deletion, but chances of
overlooking an article are great - google isnt always up-to-date.

some examples:
http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afbeelding:Wapenschild_van_duitsland.png
http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duitsland
http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afbeelding:Vlag_van_duitsland_normaal.png (lists all uses
except Duitsland=Germany, the article mentioned above)
