Hallo!

http://yi.wiktionary.org/w/index.php?title=%D7%95%D7%95%D7%90%D6%B8%D7%9B%D7%A0%D7%98%D7%90%D6%B8%D7%92&diff=4482&oldid=4463

are showing red differences.

However the point there is a BiDi control character which was deleted from the
old revisions.

The request is that diff should show some indication in blue (... whatever or
*UNICODE #...*) to identify such diffs.

note:

I do not know if the example from
bug 3672: BiDi: improuve the diffs with regard to RTL issues
is a special case from
bug 3894: white space characters, BiDi control characters should show up in diff

in the examples from bug 3672 some of the special BiDI characters are "probably"
*outsite* wiki brackets
in the examples from bug 3894 the special BiDI characters are *insite* wiki
brackets

for a solution / workaround compare also with

*expanding the request*

Please note that some characters from the
Unicode Characters in the Combining Diacritical Marks Block
http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/block/combining_diacritical_marks/list.htm
are not displayed if they are not used together with other characters.

*scenarios*

  • such characters are inserted as the first character in a page
  • such characters are inserted as the first character in a paragraph, line (etc.?)
  • Bug 9658 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***

It would be nice to indicate the change in invisible characters somehow, but it's not a very high priority.
