Although by default Mediawiki hides inlined URLs for external links (http://...), this is accomplished with CSS and does not work in browsers with no CSS support. Since lengthy URLs may break page rendering in unpredictable ways -- which cannot be mitigated through wikicode -- it would be helpful to have an option to entirely prevent URLs from appearing in the rendered HTML.
