Choosing a different color for links to featured articles
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Author: neubau

Description:
The differenciation between existing articles and to-be-written ones by color is
quite helpful. Well, I would like to see an option to change the color of
articles who are marked as "brilliant prose" ("exzellente Artikel" on de:) in
another color.

I'm against this feature. It adds unnecessary complexity. We have already four
different link types (external, internal existing, internal non-existing, short
article) - even that is hard to understand for the average user.

So actual featured typology *could* be :

  • external
  • intrawiki (for wiktionnary, wikibooks, wikisource)
    • ...
  • interwiki (for the same wiki type between langages)
    • ...
  • internal
    • non existing
    • existing
      • short article (does it really exist, on which criteria is it based ?)
      • redirect (even if it is only for maintenance, it could be easy to do)
      • ...

of course the default CSS could graphically merge the different type which could
be only activated on personnal CSS

even if I partially agree with elian, more information have to be accessible
visually (or other) before accessing the page

This kind of arbitrary classification isn't something that's going to make it into link coloring.

Of course it does !
Just turn the classification into CSS class and you will get different color as
you wish ;-)
