Also add

  • [[Foobar.jpg:Talk:Image]] for RTL
  • [[Image/Talk/Foobar.jpg]], [[Talk/Image/Foobar.jpg]] and [[Image_Talk/Foobar.jpg]] for Unix users
  • [[Image\Talk\Foobar.jpg]], [[Talk\Image\Foobar.jpg]] and [[Image_Talk\Foobar.jpg]] for Windows users

This is confusing? Yes. Adding variants for the same thing does not
make things less confusing. I would wonder whether
[[Talk:Image:Foobar.jpg]] and [[Image_talk:Foobar.jpg]] are really
the same thing when encountering them for the first few times.

namespaces really confuse me... I thought that was what disambiguation pages and categories were for...

All that I'm finding namespaces to do for me are: cause me to practice typing extra...

and cause me to split content into clean sounding categories.. that aren't really that clean... and end up making me do a
lot of typing.

I do see how they can limit the searching,... but that could be made to work with categories

Different namespaces have different semantics. Compare an
Image: page, a Special: page, a Talk: page and an article
page. They have different buttons, different functionality.

Only Wikipedia: isn't that different from an article, but
it is a different thing, too: It's not an encyclopedia
article, but text about how we are working, policies,
discussion. Whether this could be done using categories?
Probably. But performance is something different.

JeLuF made a perfect comment on that. And I'm good at WONTFIX'ing :)

I agree that behavior is not the same as experienced in "day to day live".

Note that [[Talk:Talk:Talk:Talk:Foo]] generates a link also. Clicking on the
article tab will open a page in the *talk* namespace. See also
[[Talk:Help_talk:Talk:]].
