If you go to the "Maintenance" special page and click
on "Pages with Self Links", you should get a list of
all page that contain a link to themselves, which they
should not.
When I tried some of these, I always ended up on a stub
article that had no other references to itself, other
than the "expanding it" part of the "This is a stub"
message.
A few possible solutions:
- determine the list of self-references before
expansion of special codes like {{stub}}
- while expanding special codes, don't count their
self-references
- Don't count references with extra parameters like
action=edit
- Remove the action=edit link from the {{stub}}
expansion and refer to the edit button on the top of
the page
There was one exception: a page (100 Years Series) that
had a NOTOC directive and a manual TOC with
links of the form:
[[100 Years Series#100 Years...100 Movies|AFIs 100
Years...100 Movies]]
These are actually links to named bookmarks in the page
and should be allowed too.
I attempted to fix this by changing them to
AFIs 100 Years...100 Movies
to make it even more clear that it's a bookmark on the
same page but it still shows up (but the Self Links
page is probably cached for some time, I'll check again
later)
I don't have an account on sourceforge (yet)
However, my login on metawiki, wikipedia, etc, is lvl
